Same-Sex Marriage, Three Points of View

Family

The way I see it there are three points of view when it comes to same-sex “marriage.” There’s the one the homosexual activists support — the government should sanction their marriages the same way they sanction traditional marriage. Then there’s the Focus on the Family view — same-sex “marriage” should be banned because it’s an idea that comes straight from the pits of hell. The third view is one that isn’t talked about very much — the government shouldn’t be in the business of sanctioning marriage at all, it’s a private religious matter.

House Votes to Denounce Ruling on Pledge of Allegiance

CNSNews.com: “The House of Representatives on Thursday overwhelmingly approved a nonbonding resolution criticizing a court decision that found reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools unconstitutional. In a 400-7 vote, with 15 members voting “present,” the House encouraged the Attorney General to appeal the controversial decision made by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that the Pledge violates the separation of church and state because it contains the phrase “one nation under God.” “The 9th Circuit continues to get it wrong,” said House Judiciary Committee Chairman James Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), who condemned the court for refusing to rehear the case just as the nation was preparing for “an impending war to defend the values upon which our great nation is founded.” However, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) supported the decision “that we cannot ask schoolchildren to recite a prayer or a belief in God in the classroom setting, even if we allow the dissenters to walk out of the room.” Nadler was one of seven Democrats to vote against the resolution, including Gary Ackerman (N.Y.), Barney Frank (Mass.),. Jim McDermott (Wash.); Robert Scott (Va.), and Pete Stark and Mike Honda (Calif.).

I’m glad to see the Legislature is telling the Judicial activists they’re out of control. Only the Legislature has the right to make or repeal a law about the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Real Jefferson

Religion

Was Thomas Jefferson a skeptic and hostile to Christianity?

Dr. D. James Kennedy points out that he was not. Jefferson was the one who penned the famous “separation of church and state” line the ACLU and other godless people are so fond of quoting. That doesn’t mean he was hostile to Christianity.

So what about the Jefferson Bible, that miracles-free version of the Scriptures? It’s a myth.
