Last night during the State of the Union address it may have looked like some Congressmen weren’t paying attention. That may not have been the case. Some were following along, reading the speech on their iPads and some were tweeting their reactions live as Obama gave the speech. Senate Blocks Short-Term Funding Bill
Now there’s a shock, not! We have a Republican controlled House that’s getting things done, passing bills. They we have a do-nothing Senate that blocks everything and won’t even consider compromise­.

Tabling this debt ceiling bill without debate is not fair to the American people. Harry Reid should allow debate and ultimately an up or down vote. Democrats have put forth no bill of their own, they haven’t even proposed a budget for over two years!

The Braying Jackass used to be a regular feature on this blog, but I haven’t seen any quotes dumb enough lately. Fortunately, Al Franken is in the Senate now and he should offer plenty of dumb quotes.

“How long do you think it will take before the FOXNews web loads 5 times faster than the DailyKos?” ~Al Franken speaking about the need for a Net Neutrality Law.

All I can say is, “What an Idiot!” Does Stuart Smalley understand there are many different things that affect how fast a web site loads. There’s the size of the pipe the server is using. There’s the speed of the server. There’s the web server software, the DB backend. There are 100 different things that can cause a web site to load slowly.

Al, I wish you would stick to doing intentional comedy instead of the unintentional joke you’ve become on the U.S. Senate floor.
