The speech is 30 minutes long, but I encourage you to watch it starting at about 10 minutes in.

The Mayor has this advice for parents:

“Parents who neglect their children, who don’t know where they are, who don’t know what they’re doing, who don’t know who they’re hanging out with, you’re going to find yourself spending some quality time with your kids in jail. … Maybe you’re sending them a check or bringing some cash by, that’s not being a father. … And if you’re not providing the guidance and you’re not sending any money, you’re just a sperm donor.”

And he admonished the youths:

“Take those Goddarn hoodies down, especially in the summer. Pull your pants up and buy a belt, ’cause no one wants to see your underwear or the crack of your butt. Nobody.”

“If you walk into somebody’s office with your hair uncombed and a pick in the back, and your shoes untied, and your pants half down, tattoos up and down your arms and on your neck, and you wonder why somebody won’t hire you? They don’t hire you ’cause you look like you’re crazy!”

The congregation applauded! The black community needs more leaders like this, he is the complete opposite of race pimps like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

Was this statement made by a liberal or a conservative?

The church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the state, but rather the conscience of the state. It must be the guide and the critic of the state. If the church does not recapture its prophetic zeal, it will become an irrelevant social club without moral or spiritual authority.

This month, my family and I will embark on a Bible reading plan.
A Preface to This Adventure: What Is Advent?

Advent comes from the Latin word adventus meaning arrival or coming. The Hebrews looked forward to the coming of a Savior or Messiah—the First Advent. Now, we are waiting expectantly for His return to sweep His bride off of our feet—the Second Advent. The Church has waited for Him to come back from the moment He left the first time. Continue reading →

I have no idea why liberals think we can get along with Muslims. Most of them probably haven’t read the Bible and don’t know the history if Ismael and Isaac.

In Genesis 16, God tells us two key things about Ismael.

His descendants will be too numerous to count. (v. 10)
There are millions of Muslims in the world today, so we know that promise was fulfilled.

“He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.”
There has been constant violence between the descendants of Ishmael (Muslims) and the descendants of Isaac (Jews and Christians) for thousands of years.

The Bible tells us that Muslims won’t get along with Jews and Christians, that’s why we can’t get along.

An atheist became incensed over Christmas holiday preparations. He filed a lawsuit about the constant celebrations given to Christians and Jews while atheists had no holiday to celebrate.

The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the long, passionate presentation by the atheist’s lawyer, the judge banged his gavel and declared, “Case dismissed!”

The lawyer immediately stood and objected to the ruling. “Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter, and many other observances. Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur, and Hanukkah. Yet, my client and all other atheists have no such holiday!”

The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply said, “Obviously, your client is too confused to know about, much less celebrate, his own atheist holiday!”

The lawyer pompously said, “Your honor, we are unaware of any such holiday for atheists. Just when might that holiday be?”

The judge replied, “Well, it comes every year on exactly the same date. Psalm 14:1 states, ‘The fool says in his heart, there is no God.’ Thus, if your client says there is no God then, according to the Bible, he is a fool. April Fool’s Day is his holiday. Now, get out of my courtroom!”

African American Folk Song, performed by the Kindergartners of Mauldin Elementary

We live in an area that has been ignored by the ACLU so children from a public elementary school can still sing songs about Jesus Christ in a Baptist church.

8.
I had never seen my Grandmother’s obituary before because I couldn’t read when I was five-years old. My Father-in-law found this on a genealogy website.

Mrs. Anna Evans, of 1520 Center St., Ashland, died at her home at 7 am Saturday. She was born in Girardville March 17, 1915, a daughter of the late DeLance and Laura (Wagner) Jones.

She was a former resident of Locustdale. Mrs. Evans was previously hospitalized.

She was a member of Bethany Evangelical Church, Ashland and the Auxiliary to the Prince of Peace Commandery 39, Ashland. Surviving are her husband, Warren, a daughter, Laura, wife of James Trommetter, of Coopersburg; a sister, Mrs. Alice Horbach, of Ashland; two grandchildren, one nephew.

Services will be held Tuesday morning at the Kull Funeral Home with Rev. H. David Albright of Bethany Church officiating; interment in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs.
