<p><a class="BlogTitle" href="http://www.washtimes.com/world/20030331-97558602.htm">Marines get hot meal from grateful Iraqis</a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.washtimes.com/world/20030331-97558602.htm">The Washington Times</a>: &#8220;<cite>Iraqi civilians fleeing heavy fighting have stunned and delighted hungry U.S. Marines in central <a class="zem_slink" title="Iraq" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq">Iraq</a> by giving them food.</cite>&#8221;</p>
<p>Haven&#8217;t heard this reported by the major media outlets on <a class="zem_slink" title="Television" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television">TV</a>. I wonder why? Oh, I know, they don&#8217;t want to acknowledge the success of <a class="zem_slink" title="George W. Bush" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_W._Bush">President Bush</a>&#8216;s campaign to liberate Iraq. After all, NBC has <a class="zem_slink" title="Peter Arnett" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Arnett">Peter Arnett</a> reporting for them (and the Iraqi regime<img src="http://www.trommetter.org/smilies/angry.gif" alt="" width="15" height="15" />) and ABC has <a class="zem_slink" title="Peter Jennings" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Jennings">Peter Jennings</a>. Neither of those networks will give the US liberation effort a favorable story. <a class="zem_slink" title="CNN" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CNN">CNN</a> always reports the world view, so they won&#8217;t broadcast a story favorable to the US either.</p>
<p><span id="more-1149"></span></p>
<p>Contrary to what some people are saying, we are <a href="http://opinionjournal.com/best/?id=110003275">winning the hearts and minds </a>of the Iraqi people. In front of the TV cameras the Iraqis are chanting pro-Saddam slogans. Off-camera, they tell reporters they&#8217;re glad the Americans are finally there. They fear reprisals from <a class="zem_slink" title="Ba'ath Party" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ba%27ath_Party">Baath party</a> members if they cheer for the Americans on camera, thus we don&#8217;t have any convenient pro-American sound bytes.</p>

<p>Media bias at this time is disgusting. You&#8217;d think they could put their bias aside for a little while. <a class="zem_slink" title="Peter Jennings" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Jennings">Peter Jennings</a> can be excused because he&#8217;s just a dumb Kanuk.</p>
