Sour Grapes Over Milk Labeling

[Topic: Money] Oakhurst Dairy in Maine labels its milk: “Our farmer’s pledge: no artificial hormones.” Monsanto is suing, they say the label implies Oakhurst’s milk is somehow better than milk from cows treated with rBST, and that unfairly harms Monsanto’s business.

I think Monsanto is just crying over split milk. The farmers and Oakhurst Dairy have the right to put whatever truthful label they want on their milk cartons. That’s the beauty of the free enterprise system. Judges shouldn’t interfere.

Harassment of Soldiers’ Kids

Teachers in Main are

harassing soldier’s kids
.* They are telling the children
of guardsmen called up for active duty that the war on Iraq
is illegal and immoral. This implies that their parents are
immoral for participating in an illegal war.

What would happen if teachers were harassing the children of
abortionists? There would be an outcry so loud you’d hear it
from Maine to Florida. These teachers need to be severely
disciplined, but it doesn’t look like the children will get
any help from the local school districts or the State
Education Commission.
