“Vitamin R” linked to 51 deaths

I’ve always been against treating kids with Ritalin. Here’s one more reason to be against it.

FDA: 51 attention drug patients died

Deaths of 51 U.S. patients who took widely prescribed drugs to treat attention deficit disorder prompted regulators to start watching for heart attacks, high blood pressure and other problems in 2004, a report released on Wednesday said.

The Food and Drug Administration staff did not say the drugs were responsible for the fatalities, but they urged close monitoring for “the rare occurrence of pediatric sudden death during stimulant therapy.”

I thought they’d never catch this guy. He’s been hiding out in western NC in an area where the people are not exactly friendly to Rudolph’s enemies. They don’t like the FBI either.

RU-unpopular?

Life

Seems like RU-486 is not the “great leap forward” that pro-abortion forces thought it would be. Statistics are starting to emerge from places like San Diego,
Los Angeles and Flint, MI that indicate women seeking an abortion aren’t rushing out to ”take control” of their own abortion.

Let’s face it, it’s an inconvenient way to kill a child and it’s also more expensive. Most women just “want to get it over with.” Pro-Abortion forces may have pushed the FDA into a premature decision, all for naught.

RU-Ready-486

Life

Apparently the National Abortion Federation (NAF) thinks a lot of people are not ready for RU-486. The group, which represents 400 abortion providers, is taking out ads in major women’s magazines to promote the drug. These ads are irresponsible because they do not point out any of the dangers of the drug. Because the NAF is not manufacturing the drug, they have no obligation to inform women about side effects or the failure rate (3% in some recent statistics) of chemical abortion.

Danco Laboratories, the manufacturer of RU-486, has not taken out any ads. Why not? It’s supposed to be the greatest thing for “reproductive rights” since 1973. If they did, the FDA would require them to reveal the dirty little secrets about the drugs dangers.

Pro-Life groups are upset about this misleading nature of the ad campaign. The magazines they have chosen target women from ages 15 to 40. “This is extremely irresponsible to be promoting this dangerous drug without even warning women there are some consequences attached to it,” said Wendy Wright, director of communications for Concerned Women for America. The ad seems to imply that RU-486 is a quick fix, it just makes the baby disappear; but it can be a very traumatic experience.
