Supreme Commandments

Justice

The battle over 10
Commandments monuments looks like it’s headed for the Supreme Court.
Two different courts have ruled in two different ways and the only
solution is to take the Alabama case to the Supremes for a final
judgement.

Libertarian Outcry

Privacy

Every freedom-loving American should be upset about this court ruling
The ruling allows the justice department to effective tap anyone’s
phone or read their e-mail if they’re suspected of being involved in
terrorism. How long will it be until it’s used for things other than
terrorism? What’s scary is that the hearing was conducted in secret. The only lawyer who appeared was the government’s lawyer and ACLU and other lawyers were shut out of the proceedings.

Orwell was just off by 18 years. Pretty good prognostication for a science fiction story.

Guns Save Lives!

2nd Amendment

…Get the facts.

Women, in particular, need guns for safety. In 89.6% of violent
crimes where women are the intended victims, the offender does not
have a gun; and only 10% of rapists carry a gun. So armed women
have an advantage over their attackers.

A Justice Department study discovered that of more than 32,000
attempted rapes, 32% were actually successful. But when those
women were armed, only 3% of the attempted rapes were
successful.

Religious Attacks

Religion

The ultra-Liberal
elites are in attack mode again. They’re criticizing John
Ashcroft’s morning prayer
meetings
. I don’t see why they’re attacking him. I understand
many members of Congress hold such morning meetings, including John
Ashcroft when he was in the Senate. As long as nobody is
required to attend the meetings then it shouldn’t be a
problem. He has a long way to go to clean up the Justice Department
and he’s gonna need God’s help.

I’d like to point out once again, there is no “Constitutional
separation of church and state.” The First Amendment prohibits the
government from establishing an official State Church. It does not
prohibit individuals with religious beliefs from trying to influence
the government.

The people who are uncomfortable with this practice are cowards.
None of them interviewed for the Washington Post article were
willing to be identified by name.
