First Manned Private Spaceflight
Mojave, CA “A piloted rocket plane has achieved the first privately developed manned spaceflight.”
NASA hasn’t had much success with manned missions lately. Maybe the private sector can show them how it’s supposed to be done?
“We now return to our regularly scheduled programming.” When will we hear that? It’s been wall-to-wall coverage of the Columbia disaster for over 2 days now. Yes, seven people were killed; but I bet 7 other people were killed in car accidents the same day. 19 people were killed in a plane crash at the Charlotte, NC airport a few weeks ago. That didn’t get the news coverage the Columbia disaster is getting. We’re all saddened by the tragedy, but it’s time to get on with life. “Back to work people, there’s nothing new to see here.”
Gosh, I really hope this isn’t true. If Green extremism has cost us the lives of 7 astronauts, then the environmental wackos are completely out of control.

Our hearts go out to all who perished on the space shuttle Columbia and their families. Rick Husband, Bill McCool, Mike Anderson, Kalpana Chawla, Dave Brown, Laurel Clark and Ilan Ramon died in the breakup of the spaceship. We will be praying for you.
