666! It’s starting. Next thing to come, companies requiring their employees to be “chipped.”

Firm implants ID chips

A small Walnut Hills operator of security cameras has re-ignited the international debate over microchips and privacy by implanting the chips into at least two employees.

Chief executive officer Sean Darks of CityWatcher.com said a doctor implanted the chips – about the size of a grain of rice – in his forearm several months ago and in the arm of another employee. He would not identify the other employee.

This is scary! Insertion of these chips is easy, but removing them requires surgery. There are some people who say this technology is not secure. It’s possible to read the signal coming from these devices and then “clone” the chip. If anybody ever tries to make me get one of these chips, I’ll refuse citing religious beliefs.

Innocence Punished

Your Innocence Is No Protection

[Topic: Privacy] When the politicians violate the Bill of Rights with the Patriot Act or some other guaranteed-to-bring-peace-and-security-to-the-world scheme, they always reassure us by saying: “If you aren’t guilty, you have nothing to fear.”

Just because you’re innocent doesn’t mean you won’t be punished, or even killed. As always, Harry Browne says it so well I don’t need to add anything.

Bah, Humbug!

Christmas Privacy

Fire Marshal Gives on Holiday Trees

Virginia’s top fire marshal backed away yesterday from new
rules that banned fresh-cut Christmas trees in tens of thousands of
homes this year, after furious apartment and condominium residents
begged officials to “save Christmas.”

Just one more example of big government making an unwanted intrusion into our lives. Doesn’t really surprise me.

Greenville Installs Surveillance System To Cover Downtown

[Topic: Privacy] The next time you get the feeling someone’s looking at you in downtown Greenville, you may be right. Greenville police say their new 87-camera, $500,000 surveillance system is operational and covers almost all of downtown.

Last night on the news, I saw an interview with the police chief. He essentially said, “We’re doing this for your safety.” Whenever a government official says that, look out! That means they’re about to take away some of your freedom.
