Happy Mother’s Day

Mother, I’m thinking of you on Mother’s Day this year. So much has happened in the last year. You would be very proud of your grandchildren.

Rachel started high school. Can you believe it? She’s almost old enough to drive a car! She made her own decision to  join the Navy JROTC program at her school and she’s doing very well. For the first time this year, school has been an academic challenge for her. (She’s taking a lot of Honors classes.) You would love to hear the beautiful music she plays on her violin.

TJ started 1st grade at A.J. Whittenberg Elementary School of Engineering. It’s been a challenge! We found out he has an eye condition known as convergence insufficiency and he’s been going to vision therapy all year. He also has ADHD (big surprise!) and we made the tough decision to put him on medication. It’s working, you would have loved to see him get his “Most Improved” award at the last award ceremony! He’s also learning to play basketball, just like his Grandpa.

Mother took care of Dad when he had heart surgery. He took care of her faithfully right up until the moment she passed from this life into the next.

Same-Sex Marriage, Three Points of View

Family

The way I see it there are three points of view when it comes to same-sex “marriage.” There’s the one the homosexual activists support — the government should sanction their marriages the same way they sanction traditional marriage. Then there’s the Focus on the Family view — same-sex “marriage” should be banned because it’s an idea that comes straight from the pits of hell. The third view is one that isn’t talked about very much — the government shouldn’t be in the business of sanctioning marriage at all, it’s a private religious matter.
