Five Health Reform Whoppers!
President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are lying to you about health care reform. Let’s take a look at a few things they’re saying about the Senate bill. (Source)
The Lie: Health care reform will reduce your insurance premiums.
Truth: For millions of Americans, the Senate bill will actually make things worse, increasing insurance premiums by 10 to 13 percent for some families.
The Lie: Middle-class taxes won’t be raised.
Truth: The Senate bill raises at least 15 new or increased taxes totaling more than $493 billion.
Remember folks, Obama promised nobody earning less than $250,000 would pay any new taxes. If this health care bill passes, he will break that promise!
The Lie: You can keep your current insurance.
Truth: Then individual mandate in the Senate bill may force you to change health insurance plans. You may be forced to buy a more expensive plan that contains benefits you don’t want or need.
The Lie: It will only cost $848 billion.
Truth: We all know new government programs always cost more than what they say they will. The minority staff of the Senate Budget Committee reports the cost is closer to $2.5 trillion.
The Lie: It will reduce the budget deficit.
Truth: This is all smoke and mirrors, accounting tricks and it depends on future Congresses to make huge cuts to Medicare.
This is health care reform the American sheople can’t afford. We need free-market health care reform.
