• How Pennsylvania’s tax burden compares with other states
  In selling his plan to raise taxes to balance the budget, Gov. Ed Rendell has repeatedly emphasized that the state’s personal income tax rate is among the nation’s lowest. But, Pennsylvania has the 11th-highest tax burden in the nation, according to the Tax Foundation.
  You’re not winning any points with the people by telling us we’re not paying enough in taxes. You’re just encouraging me to move back to South Carolina.
• Catholic nurse ordered to help with abortion
  A lawsuit has been filed against Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City for requiring a nurse who had a long record of expressing conscientious objection to abortions to help in the dismemberment of a live 22-week-old preborn child.
  If Obamacare gets enacted, this will become more common. Hospitals will be able to fire people of conscience who refuse to do no harm.
  
• Why won’t Congress enroll in gov’t health care?
  If government-run health care is such a great idea, why won’t members of Congress enroll their own families? The question has been on the minds of many Americans, but Democrats aren’t giving answers. Instead, they are exempting themselves from their own health care “reform.”
• Obamacare for old folks: Just ‘cut your life short’
  The version of President Obama’s universal health care plan pending in the U.S. House would require “end-of-life” counseling for senior citizens, and the former lieutenant governor for the state of New York is warning people to “protect their parents” from the measure.
  Once again I’m reminded of the classic movie Logan’s Run. That reality is closer than you think.
  
• Lawmaker: 40 Democrats Oppose Health Care Bill Without Abortion Ban
  The leading pro-life Democrat in the House of Representatives says a total of 40 Democratic lawmakers would vote to oppose a health care bill on the House floor unless it explicitly included language banning taxpayer-funded abortion and insurance mandates on abortion.
  I hope these Pro-Life Democrats stand firm. Obamacare will never pass without their support.
