  • Political Madness: The 2012 Republican Primaries
We’ve got the results of the first round of the 2012 Republican Primary Tournament. And there’s only one big upset on the side of the users: Sen. Sam Brownback beat Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels. Now you can vote in Round 2 and have your say over at Political Junkie. We’ll announce the winners of this round March 30.
In the second round Ron Paul should easily win over Mitt Romney. It’ll be a close game between Mike Huckabee and Jim DeMint.
  • The Toxic Assets We Elected
With the braying of 328 yahoos — members of the House of Representatives who voted for retroactive and punitive use of the tax code to confiscate legal earnings of a small unpopular group — still reverberating, the Obama administration Monday invited private-sector investors to become business partners with the capricious and increasingly anti-constitutional government.
I think I’d go a step further and say they’re braying jackasses.
  • Bush Deficit vs. Obama Deficit in Pictures
President Barack Obama has repeatedly claimed that his budget would cut the deficit by half by the end of his term. But as Heritage analyst Brian Riedl has pointed out, given that Obama has already helped quadruple the deficit with his stimulus package, pledging to halve it by 2013 is hardly ambitious. The Washington Post has a great graphic which helps put President Obama’s budget deficits in context of President Bush’s.
  • The Obama Press Conference… A Cornucopia of !%&&%#* – President Obama went before the American people (again) in order to pitch his brand of socialist policies. His budget has come under attack, as I reported yesterday, and on Tuesday night, Obama tried to clarify why massive government spending and saddling America with unprecedented levels of debt are justified.
  • Why South Carolina Doesn’t Want ‘Stimulus’
Before the stimulus bill passed, I asked for states not to be bailed out. After it was signed into law, I said that a state bailout would create more problems than it solved, and that we shouldn’t spend money we don’t have. That debate was lost, so I looked for a reasonable middle ground. I asked the president for his support in using the $700 million to pay down state debt.
Once again Mark Sanford proves why he deserves to be the Republican nominee in 2012.
