I’ve been a big admirer of Dennis De Young ever since I heard him sing “The Best of Times” as the voice of Styx. (“The Best of Times” was our prom theme, so you can tell how old I am.) His voice is just as good on this album, it’s almost like he hasn’t aged at all.

I’m not a huge fan of all the tunes on this disc, but there are a few standouts. His rendition of “Summertime” is good, but not like Ella Fitzgerald in the original “Porgy and Bess.” “Someone to Watch Over Me” is good as is “Memory.” The best song is “Bring Him Home” by far. It’s from “Les Miserables” which is my favorite Broadway musical. Dennis sings this so well that I think he should join a touring company as Valjean.

Although I can’t recommend buying the entire album, you should at least download your favorite songs from Napster.
