This Land Was Your Land
Developer seeks Souter’s property
A private developer contacted the local government in Supreme Court Justice David Souter’s hometown in New Hampshire yesterday asking that the property of the judge – who voted in favor of a controversial decision allowing a city to take residents’ homes for private development – be seized to make room for a new hotel.
Obviously someone’s doing this to make a point, but it would be the Supreme irony if the judge’s land was confiscated to make way for a hotel.
Let the Tyranny Commence
“The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence.” ~John Adams
The Supreme Court has effectively nullified all private property rights in the entire United States.
NAALCP Boycott Ineffective
Now in its fifth year, the NAALCP boycott of South Carolina tourism hasn’t caused a noticeable dent in the state’s $14.6 billion tourism industry.
The Confederate Battle Flag still proudly flies in front of the State Capitol.

Four Founders
There are these four statues at Trade and Tryon in Uptown Charlotte. I’ve been meaning to take pictures of them for months, but I just got around to it today, my last day working in Charlotte.
