Topic: Media Bias “[W]hen we lined up
the interview with Mr. Clarke months ago, he hadn’t yet found a
publisher. Having said that, let me also say that considering the
nature of the Clarke book, I should have mentioned that his publisher
was a company owned by the same people who own CBS. That I didn’t was
plainly and simply an oversight.” –CBS’s Lesley Stahl responding to
viewer mail about her “60 Minutes” interview of Richard Clarke…and
her failure to note the network’s convergence of money interests in
promoting his book sales.

Hat tip to The Federalist.

Leslie Stashl certainly understated things when she said it was “plainly and simply an oversight.” Yeah, right. Both Clarke’s book and “60 Minutes” advance the same political agenda, that’s why they had him on the show. They don’t care about a potential conflict of interest.
