WorldNetDaily: “Former deputy prime minister in custody of coalition forces

We’ve caught the 8 of spades. Probably one of the most significant people we’ve captured. He was the mouthpiece of the Iraqi regime for many years and he knows “where all the bodies are buried.”

Bio-Weapon on the Loose

Virus Is Mutating Rapidly, Genetic Sequencing in China Indicates

Washington Post: “BEIJING, April 22 — Chinese scientists have deciphered the genetic code of a number of samples of the SARS virus and say their research could provide important clues as to whether the microbe will weaken or increase in severity over time.

I’m not much on conspiracy theories, but I think this bug is a bio-weapon that got loose.

Testing Gap?

Education

Testing gaps still big in city schools

The Washington Times: “Big-city schools flush with money and small class sizes still have a majority of children in most grades who are not proficient in reading and mathematics, a report says.

This story proves one thing: throwing money at the problem doesn’t solve it. Get the feds out of it! They propose a one-size-fits-all solution. That won’t work. Each community needs to be free to address the needs of it’s own students in their own way.

Why are we even worrying about a “testing gap?” I’m more worried about a learning gap. We can’t teach to the test, we must teach children to think on their own, otherwise they’ll become mindless sheople dependent on the government.

Endangering the Faithful

Media Bias

Time magazine targets Christian missionaries

WorldNetDaily: “Risk of prison, torture, death motivating church workers to avoid mag’s reporters

Time magazine (I’m so glad I no longer use AOL and support AOL Time-Warner) is doing nothing less than signing the death warrants of some missionaries. If they are highlighted by name in a magazine read round the world, they’ll be targeted for execution. Missionaries are doing the right thing if they tell Time’s reporters to kiss off.
