Summer Coffee
I love to drink coffee, can’t get any work done unless I’m “Java-Enabled.” In the summer, hot coffee just doesn’t work. I’ve switched to iced coffee. I know, I know. You’re probably saying “Gross!” right about now. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.
Here’s my recipe for iced coffee:
1/2 cup very strong hot coffee
2 Tablespoons sugar (or sugar substitute if you prefer)
8 large ice cubes
Milk or other “dairy” product
Brew your coffee twice as strong as you usually would. I prefer Gevalia Espresso Roast with one tablespoon of coffee for every cup of water. Pour hot coffee into 20 oz. glass. Add sweetener, stir well. If you don’t dissolve the sugar completely, it all stays on the bottom of the glass! Add ice and enough milk to fill the glass.
