My wife’s grandfather, Father Richard Janke, died around 7 am today. We only knew him a short time, since Auburn was re-united with her birth mother 2 years ago. His death was not sudden, his health was deteriorating all week and he received last rites yesterday morning. He was a very kind and generous man. He will be missed.

Golf Jokes
In memory of Poppy (Richard Janke) I thought I’d tell a few golf jokes that he liked.
I went out golfing today and only hit two good balls. Yes, it happened when I stepped on a rake.
“It takes a lot of balls to golf the way I do!”
Why do you always take two Baptists with you when you go golfing?
Good Press
Bernard Goldberg‘s book, Bias, is finally getting some recognition from the liberal media. It’s a New York Times bestseller, but the liberal media haven’t asked Goldberg to appear on their shows like they do with other authors on the bestseller list. After acknowledging that they have been accused of liberal bias themselves, NPR ran an article about Goldberg and allowed him to tell his side of the story. Very interesting.
Stay in the Field
Dr. Dobson has some great words of encouragement and a challenge for us in a recent WorldNetDaily commentary. We must be careful about the way we are bringing up our boys. They’re under attack by the radical left. These ultra-liberals want to change our culture in a single generation and they can, if we let them. The battle for the hearts and minds of our children is just beginning, and it won’t end any time soon. We’ve got to stay in the field until the end of the day.
“Then he said to his disciples, `The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’”–Matthew 9:37-38
Nobody’s Responsible
Nobody but Andrea Yates that is. Her doctors aren’t responsible. Her husband isn’t responsible.
Drugs or a lack of drugs didn’t cause her to murder her children.
Andrea Yates alone is responsible for her actions. When will our
society get back to the concept of individual responsibility? Not
everyone is a victim, there really are some criminals that need to be
punished.
