Olympic Upset

Sara HughesThe judging for the pairs skating competition was obviously biased, but the women’s skate was judged fairly. How do I know? Sara Hughes won! The favorites, Irina Slutskaya and Michelle Kwan, both stumbled in their long programs. They were judged accordingly. Congratulations Sarah!

The Russians aren’t satisfied with the judging in the Ladies competition. They’re complaining! Big surprise there. This was supposed to be their year to win a women’s gold medal. I just think it’s sour grapes. They fixed the pairs competition and they’re upset because they couldn’t fix the ladies competition.

Tactical Decisions

Life

An article entitled Prenatal Care or Pressure Tactics caught my attention today. I’m still trying to decide if the reporter was fair to the Pro-Life side. She referred to crisis pregnancy centers as being “antiabortion.” She emphasized NARAL‘s claims that New York area CPC’s are deceiving young women. Actually, now that I think about it, the article was very biased. But that’s no surprise.

Hooray! for the Good Guys

Topic: United StatesA lot of bleeding-heart liberals are complaining that we hit “civilian targets” in Afghanistan. Of course, these peaceniks have never seen a battlefield. Read In War, Mud Huts And Hard Calls.

Have you read the article? You should now have a new appreciation of the great job our soldiers did in Afghanistan. It’s a tough job and sometimes civilians get in the way. That’s the way things happen in an unconventional war. Team 555 cut down a 5 month job to just 20 days. They freed the civilians from Taliban bondage that much sooner.

LaHaye’s Harvest

Books

Tim LaHaye may be the most
successful Christian author of the last decade. Probably one of the top
grossing Christian authors behind Lewis and Tolkein. His Left Behind books have been wildly successful. He has a new deal for four books. I think he’ll probably do a pretty good job with a character that’s a lot like Indiana Jones.

Not a Sport?

Topic: NewsWhat do you think? Is it a sport or not? I tend to lean toward yes, it’s a sport. It takes a lot of strength and skill to do some of those jumps and spins. This mess in Salt Lake will just make them change the judging rules sooner, it was bound to happen.
